Terrell Stoglin Leaving Maryland, Entering NBA Draft

Terrell Stoglin announced today that he would be leaving the University of Maryland and entering the 2012 NBA draft. This obviously comes as a shock because only a month ago he basically declared that after looking into the NBA draft, he decided to come back to school for at least one more season. So at first this decision makes no sense. Then today the University of Maryland announced that Stoglin and Mychal Parker would have been suspended this season for breaking a school rule. Athletic Director Kevin Anderson said this “Being a University of Maryland student-athlete carries a tremendous honor and responsibility, as much as we appreciate the effort these two young men gave to the program this season, they were unable to live up to that responsibility. We’re disappointed, but hope they use this as a learning experience.” Obviously whatever they did was a major offense because being suspended for an entire season is a pretty huge punishment, especially for it to come down and the school’s most well-known athlete. Either way this is a bad situation for the Terps and Stoglin.
