Updated Wizards Lottery Standings

So as you all know by now one of the most important parts of this season is for the Wizards to get a good draft selection so they can get the best player available. Obviously with the NBA system the way that it is, there is no guaranteeing yourself a top 3 pick but by losing as much as possible you can certainly increase your chances of getting a high pick. As of right now the bottom the NBA standings are as follows:

6. Toronto Raptors: 22-40

5. Cleveland Cavaliers: 20-39

4. Sacramento Kings: 20-41

Raptors Slayed, Wall Dominates

The Wizards actually won today against the Toronto Raptors 111-108 in OT. John Wall had a great game getting to the bucket at will against the likes of Jose Calderon and Jerryd Bayless to the tune of 30 pts. Trevor Booker also had a good game and was used frequently late putting up 19 pts on 7-10 shooting. Bayless and Kleiza led the way for the Raptors with 30 points each, both killing it from outside hitting a combined 10 3′s. Good to see the Wizards getting a much-needed win even if it will hurt their draft position in the long run, it was getting pretty painful to watch them. I am not sure exactly what the attendance was, but even with the absurdly low ticket prices that place made Camden Yards seem like a packed house. One last note: Since the Wizards won and scored more than 100 points everybody gets half off any order they make at Papa Johns tomorrow. It just has to be an online order and type in the code WIZ50 into the designated box. Every dollar off counts in this tough economy. Go Wiz!

Raptors at Wizards: Let’s Get This Over With

Who: Toronto Raptors at Washington Wizards

When: 7 P.M. ET

Where: Verizon Center, Washington. D.C.

Spread: Wizards -4.5?

The Wizards and Raptors meet up again in what should be a classic battle that nobody cares about. The Wizards coming off drubbing to the Clippers are now 4-20 and are looking worse than ever while the Raptors bring their 3 game losing streak to the Nation’s capital (last win was against the Wizards…). Just like the game a few days ago, the Raptors are still without Andrea Bargnani and normally that would make a difference but with the Wizards it should be status quo. Somehow the Wizards are favored, I know the Raptors are bad and they are at home (by the way tickets were available today at stubhub.com for $1. that is not a typo, and some might consider those overpriced for this event) they still should not be favored against any team other than the Bobcats. If you have children interested in getting into basketball, please keep them away from this game.

Wizards Trounced, Show Very Little Effort

Well the Wizards lost again last night 106-89 (or as my cousin Rob told me last night: Wiz lost by 27 tonight! 106-89!…), but even worse was the lack of effort or care that they showed. To lose on a nightly basis is one thing but to get blown out by a bad team missing their best player is pretty embarrasing, and for a team so young it shows there must be something seriously wrong if maximum effort is not given at all times. Good news was that Jan Vesley started, bad news was he still only play 8 minutes. Trevor Booker had one of his better games putting up 13 pts and 7 boards on 6-1 shooting while Wall had a pretty average game for him putting up 15 pts but only registering 4 assists. The Raptors bench is what killed the Wizards as they put up 63 of the teams’ 106 pts led by Barbosa dropping 19. The only good news here was I predicted the spread correctly which means im undefeated at 1-0 for the year!
