So I know I am a couple of weeks late on this as Grunfeld was extended by the Wizards 2 weeks ago but Robbie had his say on the matter and how much he disliked the move and I am in the same boat as Rob, just not quite as passionate about it. From what I understand Leonsis has given Grunfeld a 2 year extension so he will at least be around through the 2013/2014 season and basically will be in charge of this new era of Wizards basketball. Let me first give you a quick overview of Ernie Grunfeld’s tenure thus far with the Wizards and why a lot of people are questioning his return.

The Big 3 will be hosting the Wizards tonight in south beach. Although, I wouldn’t expect to see much from the big 3 tonight, as they will probably be resting most of the game. In the last eight games Wade has played in only the four that have been against playoff opponents. Even without him, the Heat are hot right now and they are on a five game win streak. As for the Wizards, Nene will be expected to play tonight after he came back from his injury in the Wizards last game. Booker, on the other hand is not expected to play. Also, it was announced that Andray Blatche will miss the rest of the season for conditioning. I do not really understand how you miss the rest of the year for conditioning if he won’t ever play for us again, most likely. I think that the Heat will win tonight, despite resting their stars, 101-87.
Bucks at Wizards
Where: Verizon Center
When: 7
TV: CSN
The Wizards take on the Bucks tonight in a game that is crucial to the east playoff race. The Bucks are 1.5 games out of the playoffs, and can not afford to lose to the second worst team in the league, in the Wizards. The Bucks have beaten the Wizards all three times so far this year, and this will be the last time these two teams square off this year. Nene and Booker will both likely be out again tonight. The Bucks will be hoping that their trade for Monta Ellis will pay off tonight, as they hope to sweep the season series with the Wizards. I think that the Bucks will win 97-86.
Fear the Phin!
Even though record wise the Wizards season has been a complete disaster, there actually have been some positives to the season and the progression and development of Kevin Seraphin has definitely been one of them. Last year Seraphin as a rookie was really no more than a big guy that the Wiz brought in for a few minutes off of the bench each game to provide toughness and a big body for a team that sorely needed it. This year however, his game has progressed to a point where he is the go to scorer in the post (at least with Nene out) and really looks like he could be a part of our future.
