Nationals at Marlins: Memorial Day, May 28th

Where: Marlins Park

When: 1:10 EST

The Starters: Zimmermann (3-4, 2.47) vs. Zambrano (2-3, 2.85)

The Line: Marlins -115, Nats +105, O/U 7.5 Runs, Marlins -1.5

Starters – Both of these Z-men are off to great starts in 2012 with sub 3 eras but have had some tough luck with both having records under .500. Zambrano is coming off of his worst start of the year (5 IP, 7 ER vs. Rockies) and Zimmermann has had a truly terrible start all year (worst was 6 IP, 4 ER vs. Pirates). These two are pretty even right now but Zimmermann has been more consistant so he gets the edge. Advantage Nationals

Giancarlo Stanton Breaks Scoreboard With Monster Grand Slam

Giancarlo Stanton battles 93 year old Jamie Moyer to a full count before unloading a 438-foot grand slam off the left field scoreboard, breaking a panel and leaving the Marlin’s without a fully functioning scoreboard for the rest of the night. But i’m sure they didn’t care because Stanton’s Roy Hobbs-esk blast (his 9th of the year) gave Miami a 6-4 lead and eventually led to a Marlin’s win. Enjoy…

Pat’s MLB Preview

Pick to Win AL East: New York Yankees

I think that the Yankees will just have too much of everything for the Rays and Red Sox to keep up with them. They have great hitters back again with Alex Rodriguez, Mark Tiexeira, Cano, and Granderson in the middle of the lineup. On top of that they have a catcher who was an all-star last year in Russel Martin and a sure-fire hall of famer in Derek Jeter. One of their biggest holes last year was pitching, and they certainly knew that and made some big moves in free agency. They traded for Michael Pineda who had a great rookie year and signed Hiroki Kuroda who has a career 3.45 ERA. On top of that they still have an ace in C.C. Sabathia and another young star in Ivan Nova who went 16-4 last year. They have certainly improved their pitching and will win this division.
