Eddie’s NBA Finals Preview and Pick

Well we finally got what we as NBA fans have been waiting for all season and that is the two best teams and the two best players in the league going head to head for the championship. The Heat’s big 3 are about 5 years older on average than the Thunder’s big 3 so as Skip Bayless said it could almost be like a passing of the torch but the Heat never really had the torch. I think this is the best matchup NBA fans could have hoped for just because I really do think these are the best two teams in the league right now and it is just story line galore. Here is what I am looking forward to in this series:

Celtics at Heat Eastern Conference Final Game 7 Prediction

Boston Celtics at Miami Heat

Game 7 Eastern Conference Finals

8:30 PM EST, ESPN

Spread: Heat by 8

Well it comes down to all of the marbles now as the Heat demolished the Celtics on Thursday night leading to tonight’s epic game 7 finale where the winner moves on to the NBA finals and the loser goes home for good. As for last game I finally actually correctly picked the Heat to win and was pretty close on Lebron’s fantastic night. I don’t mean to toot my own horn but I did predict him to put up 42 pts 13 rbs and 10 assts and he ended up with 45 pts 15 rbs and 5 assts. Not exact but pretty close. Obviously he didn’t hit the game winner that I predicted him to hit but that is just because he dominated so much and the Celtics were so off that he never got a chance so I consider that null and void. Basically I am a guru.

Miami Heat at Boston Celtics Game 6 Prediction

Miami Heat at Boston Celtics

Game 6 Eastern Conference Finals

8:30 PM EST, ESPN

Spread: Miami by 1.5

Well somehow I managed to outdo myself once again as I picked the Heat to win for the third straight time (well actually I have picked them every game this series) and for the third straight time I was wrong. Like I said before my last post, after my recent success (or lack there of) the only reasons anyone would read my prediction was for a good laugh or to get rich off of the team that I don’t pick for tonight. Still though I am as stubborn as they come and am probably going to have to go with Heat tonight though after watching first take with Skippy B and Stephen A today I actually had to rethink my choice.

Celtics at Heat Game 5 Prediction

Boston Celtics at Miami Heat

Game 5 Eastern Conference Finals

8:30 PM EST, ESPN

Heat by 7.5

Well for anybody who as read my last 2 predictions (had the Heat winning both) for this series there are only a few reasons you could possibly be reading this one: 1. Your trying to find the team you want to bet against and are using my pick as that barometer. 2. You figure that I am due for a correct pick. 3. You are in need of a good laugh. The last one is the most likely because the last 2 games of this series I was pretty convinced the Heat were going to win and take control of this series against the older and injured Celtics. Not so much. My horrible selections aside, at least this series has gotten very interesting and there is a ton of drama in this series.

Heat vs Celtics Game 4 Prediction

Miami Heat at Boston Celtics

Game 4 Eastern Conference Final

8:30 PM EST, ESPN

After beating the Celtics twice in Miami and with the 2nd game being in an epic overtime thriller, I thought that Boston would be dead for game 3 with their old legs and the Heat would wear them out in the 2nd half (basically I thought the series was over). Naturally I was wrong and the Celtics came out and thumped the Heat led by KG who dominated the Heat’s bigs. The Celtics are going to need another game like that tonight if they want to win again though because even though they romped in game 3, I still think the Heat are the better team by a solid margin. The 2 key players for the Celts are KG and Rondo because they both are much better than anybody that the Heat have at those respective positions so they basically need to control the game in order for Boston to win this one.

Celtics vs Heat Series Prediction

Last round recap: So last round went pretty closely to how I thought it would with a couple of small differences. You can read my preview of last round here but I had the Spurs in 5 and they won in 4. I wanted though they would sweep but didn’t have the guts to predict it so that sucks. I had Thunder in 7 and they won in 5. I actually think my prediction was pretty right on as the Lake show should have won 3 of the 5 games, blowing 2 late leads that no Kobe Bean Bryant led team should lose. The Heat won in 6 when I predicted them to win in 5. No real big difference there. And the Celtics won in 7 when I predicted them to win in 6. That series was closer than I thought it would be but I never thought the Celts were in danger of losing this series throughout the entire thing.
