Yesterday morning the Terps starting PG Pe’Shon Howard was arrested for disorderly conduct outside a College Park restaurant. From what I read basically what happened was that there was some sort of fight going on that Howard was not in but the guy who started the fight was being restrained by police and Howard kept yelling at him for whatever reason. The police decided he was distracting them too much so they arrested him and he was released after being issued the citation. At least that is what I have gathered from the reports that I have read.

Terps MBB Recruiting Recap
As the recruiting season for the 2012-2013 season comes to end, now would be a pretty good time to recap how the Terps Men’s Basketball recruiting class has come together. It is an even better time to have the discussion since the Terps just gained their 6th, and almost certainly final, commitment for the 2012 class yesterday evening when 6′ 3″ combo guard Sam Cassell Jr. (yes, the son of that Sam Cassell) agreed to join Mark Turgeon and his squad.
Terps Sign Local Star
The Maryland Terrapins have signed their sixth prospect for 2012 with the signing of Sam Cassell Jr. The son of a former NBA player Sam Cassell, he has playmaking ability that will help the Terps in the upcoming year. You can check out his highlights at here. From that video and various scouting reports, it is clear Cassell is a big time scorer who can help with the ball handling duties. This will be big for the Terps as their only real point guard type is Pe’Shon Howard and he has had injury issues. Also Cassell would likely become one of the best outside shooters for the Terps along with Terrell Stoglin and fellow freshmen Seth Allen and Jake Layman. Finally, Cassell is from the Baltimore area and this signing shows how far Turgeon and his staff is willing to shore up the local area. This is most likely the last signing for the Terps and I must say I like how this team looks and expect big things for the Terps.
Maryland vs UNC Preview
I debated with myself as to what to title this post because at first I wanted to call it “What Maryland Needs to do to Beat Carolina” but then I realized that basically I would have to say that everybody on their team needs to have a career game. But there are some things that need to happen tomorrow at noon if the Terps want a shot at beating one of the best teams in the land.
The Emergence of Nick Faust
Of the many storylines involved with the Maryland Terrapins basketball team this season, one of my favorite ones is the emergence of Nick Faust. For those who don’t know Faust, he is a freshman at Maryland who was highly ranked and recruited coming out of City High School right here in Baltimore (I believe he was ranked somewhere in the 30′s nationally). What all the scouts were saying was that he was a long shooting guard that score and score a lot. Unfortunately, for the most part of this season he was not the player that everyone expected him to be.
