Orioles at Angels: Series Preview

GAME 1

Where: Los Angeles, California

When: 10:05

The Starters: Brian Matusz vs. Jerome Williams

The Orioles will start this three game series, with Brian Matusz on the mound. He has been inconsistent all year, posting a 8.38 ERA to go along with a 0-2 record. Lat time he pitched he gave up 5 earned runs in 5.2 innings. The Angels will send to the mound Jerome Williams, he has even done worst than Matusz this year. in the one time he has pitched this year he gave up 5 earned runs in 2.2 innings. The big story in this one is Albert Pujols. He got payed the big bucks in the off-season but still has not hit a home run yet. He will hope to break that streak tonight, I think that he will and the Angels will win 12-8.

Pick to Win AL East: New York Yankees

I think that the Yankees will just have too much of everything for the Rays and Red Sox to keep up with them. They have great hitters back again with Alex Rodriguez, Mark Tiexeira, Cano, and Granderson in the middle of the lineup. On top of that they have a catcher who was an all-star last year in Russel Martin and a sure-fire hall of famer in Derek Jeter. One of their biggest holes last year was pitching, and they certainly knew that and made some big moves in free agency. They traded for Michael Pineda who had a great rookie year and signed Hiroki Kuroda who has a career 3.45 ERA. On top of that they still have an ace in C.C. Sabathia and another young star in Ivan Nova who went 16-4 last year. They have certainly improved their pitching and will win this division.
