The Line: Nats -160, Padres +140, O/U 7 Runs, Nats -1.5
After slugging solo home runs in each of his first two at bats and a double in his 4th, Votto came up to the plate with 2 outs in the bases loaded trailing 6-5. National’s closer (for now) Henry Rodriguez got two strikes on Votto before throwing a 97 MPH fastball over the plate that Joey took deep to complete the Red’s comeback. His grand slam gave the Reds the 9-6 win in the game, and thwarted the Nationals attempt to close out their first sweep of the season. If anyone is worth $225 million over 10 years, Joey Votto did his best to prove that guy is him tonight.
