Unfortunately for Maryland fans, the basketball season has come to an end. The Terps were not selected to play in the NIT tournament this year and declined an invitation to the CBI (college basketball invitational) due to monetary concerns. Basically in the CBI if you want to host a game you have to shell out the money to sponsor that event and that can cost upwards of 75,000 dollars and Maryland decided it wasn’t worth that much to get the little exposure that the CBI produces. Of course there was a chance they would have played all road games in the CBI tournament, but Terps officials were not willing to take that chance and I can’t really say I blame them with their money situation. It would have been nice to get our young guys some more playing time and help them develop and mature even more, but it is not the end of the world and we can now look forward to what should be a much better season next year.
