Pat’s 11-3 NBA Picks

Celtics vs. Wizards

The Wizards have their first home game today against a win less Celtics team. The Celtics are 0-2, while the Wizards are 0-1. The Celtics are much better then their record shows two games into the year. The Wizards on the other hand, not so much. They played Cleveland in their first game and lost by ten, after coming back from 16 to tie it in the fourth quarter. They couldn’t keep Anderson Varajao off the boards. I don’t think they will be able to stop Garnett from getting rebounds either. Also, in their last game they let Kyrie Irving go off for 29 points. They will go against another start point guard in Rondo today. I think that the only way the Wizards can win is if Seraphin comes back and has a huge game, they get the majority of the loose balls, and they make their lay-ups. I don’t even know if that would be enough. I think tat Garnett will get at least 15 boards and Rondo will get at least 13 assists.

Wizards Season Preview

I have procrastinated so much that I am now writing the Wizards season preview 20 minutes before their season begins. Nonetheless, this team is very different from last season. Gone are the knuckleheads of Blatche/Young/McGee and in are the anti-knuckleheads of Okafor/Nene/Ariza. I’m actually not sure you could have a bigger transformation if you tried. You go from a team of a bunch of gunners who are goof balls that play very little defense and very small basketball IQ to a bunch of tough/smart/defensive veterans who aren’t the most offensively talented in the world. To be honest while whole “changing the culture” thing is nice and definitely needed, it most likely won’t change the Wizards postseason hopes a whole lot in the next couple of years. As for this season here is what to watch for:

Weaver’s NBA Season Predictions

East 1.Pacers 2.Heat 3.Celtics 4.Nets 5.Knicks 6.Bucks 7.76ers 8.Bulls

Intriguing but nahhh, just missed it – Hawks – Wizards

Initial Thoughts: 6 teams I think are a lock for the playoffs including the pacers, heat and the four teams from the atlantic not named the raptors. Other two spots wouldn’t surprise me who nabbed them, they’re COMPLETELY up for grabs. I think derick rose even at 80% and a shortend season for him will be enough for the bulls to get in and the whole ellis/jennings scoring combo along with a few solid role players is just good enough to get in over a goofball wizards squad and a hawk squad with too many new pieces to make any real noise yet.

Eddie’s NBA Preview and Predictions

Well I am off work today and tomorrow due to Hurricane Sandy so I thought that it would be the perfect time to get my NBA predictions up for the new season. I’m pretty pumped about the upcoming season to be honest because we have a ton of different story lines and they aren’t all focused on LeBron like they were last year. Either way I am going to rank each playoff team in their respective conferences and then give my playoff predictions after that. Enjoy!

East

1. Miami Heat

Pat’s 10/30/12 NBA Picks

With the first games of the NBA year approaching us now, I figured I would put out who I think will win tonight.

Wizards vs. Cavaliers 7:00

The Wizards will kick off the NBA season against the Cavaliers, in a match up of two teams who drafted in the top 5 in the 2012 draft. The Cavaliers took Dion Waiters with the 4th overall pick to pair up with Kyrie Irving in the back court. I personally think that they should have taken Barnes with that pick rather than Waiters. The Wizards, selected Brad Beal with the 3rd pick to join forces with John Wall in DC. Unfortunately, for this one John Wall will be out, as he will be for about the next ten games. Also, for tonight, Nene will be out along with Kevin “the phin” Seraphin. That leaves the Wizards starting Price, Beal, Ariza, Booker, and Okafor. I don’ think that will be enough to beat out the Cavs in this one.
