About Dan Swartz

Hello all! I am Daniel Swartz and it is a pleasure to be asked to be apart of the Beltway Sports Blog. As of now, I just will be a general contributor to the blog, but as time goes I look to develop a more defined role. Love to hear thoughts and comments from all readers. Agree or disagree, any feedback is great to read. Hope you enjoy my posts!

To be or Not to be

We have been down this road before.  A powerful and promising start that gets the attention of Baltimore fans into thinking that this could be the year that their will be a turnaround for the Orioles.  Were not idiots though.  Like I said, we have been down this road before.  We know that the good start the Orioles are having could just be a mirage.  An image that breeds infatuation, but leads only to despair.  How many times do we have to be stringed along, until as fans, we really can invest ourselves?  We may be a bit fair-weathered.  It’s hard not to be when the last time your team went to the playoffs was fifteen years ago.  Fifteen years of re-building and still counting.

Hello fellow beltway enthusiasts.  My name is Daniel Swartz and I am excited for the opportunity to share some thoughts, opinions, and insights to the Beltway Sports Blog.  I have lived within the beltway jurisdictions for most of my life.  Therefore, I can share in the pain and triumph of those who have seen their sports team rise and fall.  As always, feel free to share any opinions or ideas you have on my post.  Agree or disagree, any input is always welcome.

Stop, Drop, and Flop

Listen, I really like the movies.   I can’t go a week without watching AT LEAST one movie.  Before the end of April, (Academy Award season, come on people get with it) I watch every single movie within a reasonable award category.  Every single movie that is or has a candidate for a substantial award is on my incoming list on NetFlix.  My wife and I will go to the theaters every single day for weeks leading up to the actual awards show to make sure we are properly prepared for the show.  I am most enamored with the awards given to individual actors and actresses.  From leading roles to supporting roles,  I am captivated by good performances and will call up any one in my family to describe the brilliance of such talent.
