GAME 1

The Starters: Wei-Yin Chen vs. Will Smith

The biggest story of this game and series, is how Manny Machado will do against Major League pitching. Also, where will he hit in the lineup, and who’s spot he will take. To help the Orioles improve their 5 game win streak, the O’s have Wei-Yin Chen on the mound. Chen had another great start in his last start, which was against the Rays. Chen has now not allowed a run in his last two starts. In his one start against the Royals this year, he went 6 innings and gave up 2 earned runs, in the Orioles 4-3 loss. As for the Royals, they have Will Smith on the mound. In seven starts this year, Smith has been bad. He has only had two good starts all year. It shows in his ERA, which is at 6.00. He hasn’t faced the Orioles et this year. I think that the Orioles will win 5-2, and Machado will go 0-3 with a walk and a run.

GAME 2

When: 7:05 

The Starters: Miguel Gonzalez vs. Luke Hochevar

The Orioles send Miguel Gonzalez to the mound for the second game of this our game series. Gonzalez was stellar in his last start, which was against the Rays. He went 7 innings and only gave up 2 hits, no runs. That was good to see from him after 2 so-so starts. He hasn’t faced the Royals yet this year. As for the Royals, they have Luke Hochevar. Hochevar has not been a very good year this year. He is 7-9 with a 5.04 ERA. He has faced the Orioles two times this year. In those games he went 10.2 IP, 6 R, 14 hits. I think that the Orioles will win again, 6-3.

GAME 3 

When: 7:05

The Starters: Chris Tillman vs. Luis Mendoza

The Orioles have Chris Tillman on the mound in this one. Tillman had another great start in his last out, which was against the Mariners. He went 7.1 innings and gave up 1 earned run. Tillman has had only one really bad start this year, thanks to a Mark Reynolds error, but all the others have been good. He hasn’t faced the Royals yet this year. As for the Royals, they have Luis Mendoza on the mound. Mendoza has been pretty average this year, having a 5-8 record and a 4.38 ERA. He has made 15 starts this year, none of which have been against the Orioles. I think that the Orioles will win again 3-1.

GAME 4

When: 1:35

The Starters: Tommy Hunter vs. Bruce Chen

For the final game of this four game series, the Orioles have Tommy Hunter on the mound. Hunter had another god start in his last outing. He went 5.2 innings and gave up 2 runs against the Rays. In his one start against the Royals this year, Hunter went 7 innings and gave up 2 runs, hopefully he will be able to duplicate that performance. As for the Royals, they have Bruce Chen on the mound. Chen hasn’t been his normal self this year. His ERA is at 5.51 and his record is 8-9. Chen did not pitch well in his one start against the O’s this year. He went 4 innings and gave up 6 runs.
