GAME 1
When:7:05
The Starters: Miguel Gonzalez vs. Derek Lowe
The Orioles come into Cleveland with a two game win streak on their hands behind good starting pitching. In game one of this four game set, the Orioles have Miguel Gonzalez on the mound. In two starts this season, Gonzalez is 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA. Gonzalez has pitched well in his two starts, going against the Angels and the Tigers. In Gonzalez’s only appearance against the Indians this year, he went 4.1 innings and only gave up 1 earned run, with 5 strikeouts in a relief appearance. As for the Indians, they have Derek Lowe on the mound. Lowe is 8-7 with a 4.43 ERA, and has been very consistent this year. He hasn’t given up more than 4 earned runs or gone less than 5.1 innings in five starts. One of which was when he went against this Orioles team. He pitched for 5.1 innings and gave up 4 earned runs in an Orioles 9-8 win. I think that the O’s will win this game as well, 5-1.
GAME 2
When: 7:05
The Starters: Chris Tillman vs. Zach McAllister
In game two of this series, the Orioles have Chris Tillman on the mound. Tillman, after pitching 8.1 innings and not giving up an earned run in his first start, got torched in his second start which was against the Twins. He only went 2/3 of an inning and gave up seven runs, but thanks to a Mark Reynolds error, only one of those seven runs were earned. It will be interesting to see how Tillman does n his third start of the year. As for the Indians, they have Chris McAllister on the mound. McAllister has been good this year with a 4-1 record and a 3.17 ERA. In each of his 8 starts this year, McAllister has gone at least 5.2 innings and hasn’t given up more than four earned runs. I think that pattern will continue and the Indians will win 8-2.
GAME 3
When: 3:05
The Starters: Zach Britton vs. Josh Tomlin
For the third game of this series, the Orioles have Zach Britton on the mound. Britton will be making his second start of the year in this one, and did not do very well in his first start of the year. He went just 4 innings and gave up 4 earned runs in the Orioles 6-4 loss against the Twins. Hopefully he will start pitching like he did at the beginning of last season for the O’s. As for the Indians, they have Josh Tomlin on the mound. Tomlin is 5-6 with a 5.51 ERA so far this year. He had a bad outing in his last start which was against the Rays. In his only start against the O’s this year, he went 6 innings and gave up five earned runs. I think that the Orioles will win this one 7-4.
GAME 4
When: 7:05
The Starters: Tommy Hunter vs. Justin Masterson
In the final installment of this four game set, the Orioles have Tommy Hunter on the mound. After Hunter got sent down to the minors in the middle of the year, he came back up to the majors against the Twins and had a great outing. He went 7 innings and gave up just one run. Hopefully Hunter will be able to continue that pitching in this one, he will be looking to get revenge against the Indians since they were the last team he faced before being sent down to the minors. In that game he went 1.2 innings and gave up 5 runs. As for the Indians, they have Justin Masterson on the mound. Masterson has been pretty average this year, he is 6-8 with a 4.29 ERA. He pitched very well in his one start against the Orioles, he went 7 innings and gave up just one earned run. I think that the Orioles will win this one and win the series 3-2
