GAME 1

The Starters: Brandon Mccarthy vs. Jake Arrieta
The Orioles will be facing the Oakland Athletics after sweeping the Blue Jays in their last series. In the first game Jake Arrieta will be starting for the Orioles. Arrieta has not been as good as he was in the first couple of games he started. Last start he gave up 5 earned runs, in only 4.1 innings pitched. In his first start he gave up only two hits in seven scoreless innings. He has been very, inconsistent so far this year. The Orioles will need him to be good tonight, if they expect to win this game. As for the A’s, they will have Brandon Mccarthy on the mound for the first game of the series. Mccarthy has been great almost all of the year with a 3.38 ERA, but is still 0-3 on the year. This shows you how bad of a hitting team the A’s really are. Last start he pitched seven innings and gave up two earned runs, but still got the loss. The Athletics’ team batting average is at a terrible .205 right now. I think that the Orioles will win 3-2, and Arrieta will pitch well tonight.
GAME 2

The Starters: Wei Yin Chen vs. Tyson Ross
The Orioles will have to face the 25-year-old righty from the University of California in the second game of this series, in Tyson Ross. Ross is very big at 6’6 and 230 pounds, he will try to overpower the Orioles hitters. He has been solid so far this year, in the two times he has started. He is 1-0 with a 2.13 ERA. Last game he started he pitched 6.2 innings and gave up only 2 earned runs. As for the Orioles, they will send Wei-Yin Chen to the mound. Chen is 1-0 with a 2.60 ERA so far this year, and also, averages five strikeouts per game. He hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in a game yet, and hasn’t pitched less than 5.1 innings yet. Chen has been solid and reliable all year. I think that the Orioles will win again 4-1 and Chen will pitch his best game so far in his young career.
GAME 3

The Starters: Tommy Hunter vs. Bartolo Colon
This game will be a get-away game as the Orioles will be traveling to play the Yankees next, and the Athletics will fly out to Boston to face the Red Sox. The Orioles have Tommy Hunter pitching in this game. He has been solid every game except for one. He pitched very well in his last game where he gave up only one run in six innings pitched. As for the Athletics, they will have Bartolo Colon on the mound in the last game of this series. Colon is a veteran pitcher at 38 years old. He is 3-2 with a 2.62 ERA so far this year. He has been solid all year with only one shaky start. I do not think that the Orioles will be able to break ou the broomsticks and the Athletics will win 7-3.
